Casa de Victor Hugo
En la Place des Vosges, sin duda una de las más bonitas de Paris, se puede visitar la casa – museo del autor de “Los Miserables”. Sus habitaciones atesoran muebles y obras de arte que, habiendo pertenecido al escritor, permiten conocer en orden cronológico las distintas etapas de su vida a través de sus objetos más preciados. Y la biblioteca, a la que se puede acceder con cita previa, merece una mención especial: más de 11400 volúmenes relacionados con Victor Hugo, desde ediciones originales de sus obras y manuscritos, hasta los catálogos de las diversas exposiciones, cartas, dibujos y fotografías.
Definitivamente una buena excusa para recorrer la Place des Vosges, sus galerías de arte y el barrio que la rodea. Y muy cerca del museo, no podés dejar pasar la oportunidad de elegir un helado “a medida” en la Boutique Magnum (3 Rue des Rosiers): en este lugar, abierto hasta el 11 de septiembre, tendrás la oportunidad de decorar el clásico helado “de palito” con la cobertura que más te guste por 5 Euros. Imperdible!
Casa de Eugène Delacroix
La casa-atelier de Delacroix, representante del romanticismo francés, está en un rincón escondido del 5eme arrondissement, a pasos de la iglesia Saint Germain des Pres. Allí se conservan pinturas y bocetos que cubren la mayor parte de la carrera del artista, además de objetos que él mismo trajo de su viaje a Marruecos en 1832.
Este pequeño museo no sólo puede convertirse en una escala romántica de tu paseo por la Rive Gauche: podés aprovechar la visita para sacar el “billet jumelé” con el Louvre que te permitirá entrar a ambos museos el mismo día por el precio de una sola entrada, además de ahorrarte la fila en el Louvre llegando con el ticket en tu mano. Para disfrutar!

Victor Hugo´s house
At Place des Vosges, one of the most beatuful places in Paris, you can visit the writer´s house and learn about his life trough the decoration, furniture and objects exhibited in the different rooms. A special mention must be made to the library that can be visited on request: you will find there more than 11400 volumes related to Victor Hugo, such as first editions and manuscripts of his works, catalogues, letters, drawings and photographs.
Definitely a good reason to walk around Place des Vosges, the art galleries and its sorroundings! And if you get there, don´t miss the Boutique Magnum (at 3 Rue des Rosiers untill September 11), where you can buy a “taylor made” 5 Euros ice cream, wrapped with your favourite toppings!
Eugène Delacroix´s house
Delacroix´s house is located in a hidden corner of the 5eme arrondissement, very near Saint Germain des Pres church, and contains paintings and works on paper that cover almost the entire artist´s career, as well as different objects that he brought back from his trip to Morocco in 1832.
A visit to this little museum might be an interesting stop during your walk through the Rive Gauche. And if you plan to visit the Louvre that same day, you may buy the “billet jumelé” on place: you will pay just one of the tickets and skip long lines at the Louvre´s entrance. Enjoy your day!
